Trains are a particularly safe and comfortable means of transport. EMKA's products play an important role in this, as they do their job inconspicuously but indispensably. Products for railway vehicles include quarter turns, compression latches, multi-point locks, hinges, emergency hammers and fire protection gaskets.
EMKA offers a wide range of products or railway vehicle construction to meet any need. These products include compression latches with optical opening indicator. They streamline the maintenance process on the exterior of trains, especially when dealing with a multitude of lockings that require frequent opening and closing.
Having the option to verify from afar if the locks are opened or closed is not only convenient and timesaving but also enhances safety. This is ensured by EMKA's compression latch, with the lid visibly protruding at a 90 degree angle when the lock is not completely closed. As an option, the cover can be colour-coded to help easily identify the open position.
Space-efficient components are a necessity in the interior of railway vehicles. EMKA offers a flat swinghandle made of powder-coated die-cast zinc that is perfect for navigating through narrow passages on trains. The swinghandle protrudes only 9 mm and features rounded corners. It is therefore particularly suitable for escape routes and has clear advantages compared to conventional handles, which protrude further into the aisle and pose an increased risk of injury.
The value of EMKA's multi-point locking systems has been proven in multiple ways. Not only can they securely lock cabinets inside the train, but they are also suitable for locking hard-to-reach outside containers located under the floor. The multiple locking points allow for the ideal distribution of locking forces. They can be operated using a swinghandle or a quarter turn.
Last but not least, the fire protection gaskets from EMKA are crucial because they meet the highest fire protection standard HL3 set by DIN EN 45545-2. This is made possible by using flame-retardant materials. These fire protection gaskets are manufactured in the ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certified gasket factory in Spain.
From 24-27 September, these products will be showcased on Booth 765, Hall 3.1 at the InnoTrans trade fair in Berlin. InnoTrans attendees will have the opportunity to speak with EMKA about products for rail vehicles and other related inquiries.
