Elesa, the manufacturer of standard machine elements, has advanced its Elesa goes Green programme and announced the signing of a renewable energy contract with major supplier A2A. It builds on Elesa's earlier installation of solar power and water recycling systems at its Monza manufacturing facility
The “Elesa goes Green” programme means that the company’s Monza production plant is now contracted to use only electricity from 100% renewable sources. Dr Andrea Bertani, Elesa Executive Director of Finance & Administration comments: "This supply will have a slightly higher cost but we believe that efforts must be made by everyone to reduce global emissions as soon as possible, and in any case bring them to zero within 2-3 decades”.
The “Elesa goes Green” program selected A2A, the primary Italian national electricity supplier, which favours hydroelectric energy produced with water from reservoirs located in the nearby Italian Alps.
